Our Story

You, me, and #3

We are a family driving a tractor-trailer over the road long haul. We hold commercial drivers licenses and get paid to travel around the country. It is not an easy job but so far we enjoy it. There are many advantages as well as many sacrifices, but right now it is the right place for us.

Don and I have been best friends for a long time. We got married in November 2014 and are excited to see what God has for our future!

Don is an Indiana native and an Army and Navy veteran, and previously worked in law enforcement. He likes chocolate cake, country music, and construction projects.

I was born in Arizona but have lived in several states. I am a National Guard soldier and have also previously worked in law enforcement. My favorite things include fuzzy socks, orange jelly beans, and long snuggles with my honey.

We're just two imperfect people, living and learning, unbelievably blessed in so many ways!

The three of us, Jan 2017

The third member of our family is our beautiful black labrador retriever. #3 is an amazing dog who has been through much in her life but stays positive, a beautiful example of resiliency!

#3 thinks she is the copilot!

She was abused for the first year of her life: chained outside, underfed, possibly beaten, and allowed to become pregnant before she was even a year old. She finally managed to get away and showed up battered and starving at my grandfather's house. He didn't want another dog, but couldn't turn her away in her time of need. He began feeding her and eventually took her in, found homes for her puppies, and fell in love with her personality. He had started to call her #3 in an effort to keep from getting attached to her, but of course he couldn't help loving her, and the name stuck.

She's hoping for food...

#3 came to live with me in January 2014 and has since become a part of our hearts. She is a registered service dog and does so much to improve our lives on a daily basis. Don, myself, and #3 -- together we make our own little family. We are each so blessed to have each other and never want to take a moment for granted!

The face of happiness!
